About the Office of Patients’ Rights
The Office of Patients' Rights plays a vital role in protecting the rights of individuals receiving mental health care, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Their responsibilities include:
o Investigating complaints and concerns regarding the quality or legality of mental health treatment
o Monitoring facilities to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws
o Providing education and training on patient rights to both service providers and consumers
o Advocating for clients’ expressed interests during certification review hearings
